The Field of Mars Reserve is a 56 hectares bushland located between the Lane Cove and Parramatta Rivers in Gladesville. Dry eucalypt woodland (also known as dry sclerophyll woodland) covers most of the reserve which is suited to the dry, infertile sandstone soils found here. Along the creeks where the soil is rich and moist, wet sclerophyll forest thrives with ferns growing in the shade. The
